Novak sustained the injury in Sunday's win at Oldham, but a scan has since revealed no serious damage and manager Lee Clark hopes to include the 21-year-old in his squad.

But Town will be without fellow striker Robbie Simpson, who faces an extended spell on the sidelines after being diagnosed with a torn thigh muscle.

Midfielder Anthony Pilkington returned to full training earlier in the week after taking a knock at Oldham and will also be included.

Manager Clark has no other injury or suspension problems as his side, knocked out by Port Vale in round one last season, hope to emulate their run to the fifth round in 2008 when they lost 3-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The match kicks off at 7.45pm.
