The Aston Villa full-back was ineligible to play in the FA Cup tie against Birmingham last weekend due to the terms of his loan but is likely to go straight back into the starting line-up.

Shorey's return also means fellow defender Chris Gunter can move back into his preferred right-back role.

But the Reds will again be without Guy Moussi and Julian Bennett.

Midfielder Moussi is closing in on a return from an ankle injury while defender Bennett continues to battle against a knee problem.

Davies' men will be looking to extend their unbeaten run of 17 league games.

Appalling, Slow, Pathetic, Embarrassing

It's a bonus Saturday Mailbox, with plenty of reaction to the most alarming 0-0 draw in Manchester United's recent history. At what point do we worry about Louis van Gaal?
