McCarthy came in for criticism after sending out a second-string side in last month's Premier League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

But he revealed he will select his side predominantly from the players in action against Liverpool and Manchester City during the festive season.

George Friend, David Jones and Sam Vokes, now available after a loan spell at Leeds, are included in the squad.

Wolves (from): Hahnemann, Elokobi, Craddock, Henry, Surman, Berra, Iwelumo, Zubar, Mancienne, Doyle, Foley, Hennessey, Stearman, Ebanks-Blake, Jarvis, Milijas, Maierhofer, Castillo, Friend, Vokes, Jones.
