The Dutch midfielder was originally scheduled to return to Bristol late last week after attending his grandmother's funeral.

But the service was been put back and the 22-year-old loanee is due back in England on Monday night and, depending on his fitness, could go straight into Johnson's squad.

Fellow midfielder Gavin Williams has fully recovered from the head injury which ruled him out of the clash against Watford on December 28 and will be in contention.

Wales international Lewin Nyatanga serves a one-match ban following his sending-off against the Hornets meaning Christian Ribeiro and James Wilson will provide defensive cover on the bench.

Jamie McCombe remains absent through injury but forward John Akinde returned early from his loan spell at League One side Wycombe last week and could feature.
