Jones: Hoping to face Ipswich

Jones, a club-record signing from Hibernian, missed Saturday's 2-2 Championship draw with Watford after breaking his nose in the victory against Barnsley last Tuesday.

If the big defender misses out then recent signing Michael Raynes is expected to partner David Mirfin at the heart of the Scunthorpe defence.

Mirfin needed two injections in a toe to get through Saturday's game and will require the same treatment once again.

Winger Garry Thompson will be hoping to earn a recall to the starting line-up after making his return from a hamstring injury in a substitute appearance against the Hornets.

But defender Andrew Wright is not expected to feature against Roy Keane's side due to an ankle injury.
