Winger Lloyd Dyer and defenders Wayne Brown, Bruno Berner and Ryan McGivern all missed the midweek defeat in Cardiff due to a mixture of illness and injury but are battling to be fit.

On-loan striker James Vaughan is pushing for a start after returning from a hamstring injury as a substitute in the Welsh capital on Tuesday night, while Jay Spearing impressed on his full debut against the Bluebirds and will hope to retain his place in midfield.

Pearson is looking for his 50th win as manager in order to get City's play-off challenge back on track after three straight defeats in a four-game winless run.

Kick-off at The Hawthorns on Friday is at 5.15pm.
