McIlroy watched on in horror as his team were subjected to a humiliating 6-0 defeat at the Daggers on Sunday, ensuring the tie is effectively over at the halfway stage.

Daggers striker Josh Scott scored four goals and Paul Benson notched a brace to leave Morecambe needing a miracle in their last-ever match at Christie Park.

McIlroy could hand fit-again striker Phil Jevons a starting role after he returned from injury as a substitute on Sunday but midfielder Craig Stanley still remains a doubt with a hamstring strain.

The Shrimps move into a new stadium next season and McIlroy said: "All we can do is play for pride."
