Stevie Hammell is back in the Motherwell squad for the visit of the Buddies.

The left-back has recovered from a hamstring injury and could return to the team.

Shaun Hutchinson (hamstring), Esteban Casagolda and Marc Fitzpatrick (both knee) remain out but should all return in a couple of weeks.

St Mirren have mixed news on the injury front ahead of the game.

Nick Hegarty will have an operation on Tuesday after being told he will be out for at least three months with a broken ankle.

But Michael Higdon could make only his second appearance of the season after recovering from a groin injury and taking part in a practice match this week.
