Arca: Has a knee injury

Middlesbrough caretaker manager Steve Agnew has one injury worry ahead of the trip to Norwich.

Julio Arca picked up a knee injury in the 2-1 defeat to Leeds last week and faces a battle to be fit for the game at Carrow Road.

Midfielder Barry Robson is serving the last game of his three-match suspension and is unavailable while youngster Richie Smallwood impressed after coming off the bench to make his debut in the defeat to Nottingham Forest and is pushing for his first senior start.

Kevin Thomson and Justin Hoyte are both back in light training after spells on the sidelines but it is not known whether the game on Saturday could come too soon for the pair.

Jonathan Franks, Matt Kilgallon, Willo Flood and Rhys Williams all remain on the casualty list.

Norwich will have Elliott Ward back in the side for the visit of managerless Middlesbrough.

Centre-half Ward missed the 2-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace in midweek through a one-game suspension - the first ban of his career - but is expected to come back in against Boro.

Left-back Adam Drury is out with a calf strain which will keep him out for at least a fortnight so former Rangers man Steven Smith is in line to keep his place.

Central defenders Zak Whitbread and Michael Nelson (both ankle) are still sidelined and midfielder Andrew Surman remains a casualty with a knee injury.

Midfielder Stephen Hughes - who has played just four minutes of Championship football for the Canaries all season - has now had an operation on his ankle injury which will keep him out for two months.
