Ince: First game in charge of County

Paul Ince has received mixed news ahead of his first game in charge of Notts County at home to Southampton.

Striker Lee Hughes must serve a one-match suspension after collecting his fifth yellow card of the season against Colchester but on-loan midfielder Alan Judge returns from a three-match ban.

Defender John Thompson (ribs) and forward Craig Westcarr (hamstring) are doubts after sustaining injuries at the Weston Homes Community Stadium last week.

Striker Luke Rodgers is fit again after an ankle problem while defender Stephen Hunt has resumed full training following a lay-off with a hamstring injury.

However, midfielder Neal Bishop and striker Ben Burgess remain sidelined with knee and calf problems respectively.

Skipper Dean Hammond returns to the Southampton squad for the trip to Meadow Lane.

The midfielder missed last weekend's 2-1 win against Oldham through suspension after collecting five yellow cards this season.

Teenager Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is in contention to start after climbing off the bench to hit a superb winner last Saturday.

Frazer Richardson (shoulder) and Paul Wotton (back) were also among the substitutes after spells on the sidelines and will be involved again.

Striker David Connolly is still missing with a stomach injury but boss Nigel Adkins has an otherwise full-strength squad to choose from.

Saints have won four of their last six games and now lie just two points off the play-off places.
