Bueno: Set to miss out

Bueno: Set to miss out

Alberto Bueno looks to be losing his battle to be fit for the Rams while fellow striker Luke Moore is also a major doubt.

Bueno limped off after 36 minutes of the home victory over Watford and has not trained this week because of a swollen ankle and Achilles tendon trouble.

Moore missed the game against the Hornets after sustaining a hamstring injury in training.

"Alberto has a better chance than Luke because his injury is more of a knock than a strain but you have to think about the further damage they could do," said manager Nigel Clough.

"We will see how Alberto is on Friday morning but he is doubtful. Luke is very doubtful."

Stephen Pearson has done some light training this week as he continues to recover from a knee injury and the midfielder could be on the bench. However, defender Russell Anderson (hamstring) will remain sidelined.

Portsmouth manager Steve Cotterill has a rare selection dilemma ahead of the televised clash.

Defender Ricardo Rocha was only among the substitutes against Nottingham Forest last Saturday due to a hamstring injury and his replacement, the previously out-of-favour Ibrahima Sonko, capped a fine display with a goal in their 2-1 win.

Rocha is now fully fit and Cotterill, who was at last able to name a full bench at the weekend, also has Hermann Hreidarsson pushing for a place in the starting line-up.

Iceland defender Hreidarsson is back in the reckoning having made two substitute appearances following seven months out with a career-threatening Achilles injury.

Youngster Tom Kilbey has resumed training following a long-term knee problem but will not be involved yet. Striker Danny Webber is still building up his fitness after a cruciate injury.
