Nugent: Sidelined for QPR clash

Portsmouth boss Steve Cotterill will be without striker David Nugent for the second successive game when his side play host to Championship leaders QPR.

Nugent, who has four goals in 17 games so far this season, missed the defeat at Derby after tweaking his knee in training prior to the game and is not yet ready to return.

John Utaka is likely to continue his partnership with Dave Kitson up front but Nwankwo Kanu could be handed a surprise start.

Ricardo Rocha could be handed a recall after returning to the squad for the Derby game following a hamstring injury and Richard Hughes is also hoping for a start after a 15 minute cameo at Pride Park.

Hermann Hreidarsson will also be hoping for more game time after making two substitute appearances following his return from a seven month lay-off with an Achilles injury.

QPR boss Neil Warnock will be without Bradley Orr for the trip.

The full-back was given a straight red card in the Hoops 3-1 win over Reading for a rash challenge on Royals midfielder Hal Robson Kanu and will serve a three-match ban.

Clint Hill, who was rested at the weekend with knocks to his knee and ankle, is expected to return to the starting line-up in his usual slot at left-back.

On-loan Kyle Walker will move across the back four to a more familiar stint at right-back.

Heidar Helguson could return to the squad from a shoulder problem that has kept him out of the last two games but Georgios Tofas looks doubtful with a hamstring injury and Akos Buzsaky, Peter Ramage and Lee Cook all remain sidelined.
