QPR will be without Shaun Derry and Bradley Orr through suspension.

Midfielder Derry sits out with a one-match ban after he was booked for the fifth time this season against Nottingham Forest last weekend so Martin Rowlands, Gavin Mahon or Mikele Leigertwood will come in.

Full-back Orr serves the final game of his three-match ban for his red card against Reading last month.

Tottenham loanee Kyle Walker is struggling with an ankle knock so striker Jamie Mackie, who scored for Scotland in midweek, may have to fill in at right-back again.

Matt Connolly returns from a one-match ban and should line up at centre-half, allowing Clint Hill to revert to left-back.

Heidar Helguson's neck injury will be checked over but Georgios Tofas (hamstring), Akos Buzsaky, Peter Ramage and Lee Cook (all knee) are still missing.

Preston boss Darren Ferguson has bolstered his struggling side with three loan signings ahead of the trip to second-placed QPR.

North End are rock-bottom of the Championship ahead of the Loftus Road showdown but Ritchie De Laet, Danny Pugh and Michael Tonge have all been added to the squad on temporary deals.

De Laet has joined from Manchester United until December 13 and Pugh and Tonge have returned to Deepdale from Stoke on month-long deals following previous loan spells at the club.

Right-backs David Gray and Billy Jones missed last Friday's home defeat to Hull through injury and will be assessed along with defensive colleagues Sean St Ledger and Callum Davidson, who both picked up knocks against the Tigers.
