Reid: Set to make full home debut for Blades

Andy Reid will make his full home debut for United.

Fellow midfielder Stephen Quinn could return to the squad, but manager Gary Speed will leave the decision up to the Irishman, who missed last Saturday's 1-0 win at Millwall for personal reasons.

Reid, on loan from Sunderland, will start at Bramall Lane for the first time after scoring the winner at the New Den.

Speed, keen to extend Reid's stay with the Blades, has no new injury or suspension worries and will choose his side from the same squad if Quinn misses out again.

The Blades, who secured their first win in five matches at Millwall, have lost three and drawn one of their last four home games in the Championship.

Crystal Palace will check on defenders Adam Barrett and Claude Davis.

Barrett missed last weekend's win over Coventry after suffering concussion against Watford the previous Tuesday.

Davis replaced Barrett on Saturday but was forced off during the first half with flu.

Hull loanee Anthony Gardner came on for Davis having recovered from a groin injury and could start alongside skipper Paddy McCarthy at the back.

Boss George Burley could otherwise stick with the side which secured a second straight win at the weekend to move Palace off the foot of the table.

Lee Hills and Sean Scannell are still out with knee injuries although the latter has returned to training.
