Pedersen: Faces fitness test

Pedersen: Faces fitness test

Manchester United are likely to revert to their first-choice defensive partnership of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand despite Jonny Evans and Chris Smalling keeping a clean sheet at Rangers in midweek.

Patrice Evra will also play but Darren Fletcher (ankle) is definitely out and Paul Scholes (groin) is doubtful.

Several Blackburn players will undergo fitness tests ahead of the game.

Morten Gamst Pedersen came off during the 2-0 victory over Aston Villa last weekend and Brett Emerton missed the game, with hamstring injuries the reason in both cases.

They will have their conditions assessed, along with Steven Nzonzi and Benjani Mwaruwari, whose own hamstring problems have kept them sidelined in recent weeks.

Gael Givet, who was substituted at half-time against Villa due to illness,

should be able to take part, while Mame Biram Diouf is ineligible to play

against his parent club.
