Barnsley manager Mark Robins must decide who will step in for suspended midfielder Nathan Doyle.
Doyle will sit out a one-game ban after reaching five yellow cards for the season and Jacob Butterfield is vying with Diego Arismendi for a place in the starting line-up in his absence.
Robins has no other new injury or suspension problems as his side chases a fourth straight league win and is unlikely to make any further changes.
Winger Adam Hammill, a reported target for several Barclays Premier League clubs, has scored three goals in his last five matches and will start in a five-man midfield alongside Goran Lovre, Jim O'Brien, Hugo Colace and either Butterfield or Arismendi, with Garry O'Connor, on loan from Birmingham, up front.
Long-term absentees Matt Hill (foot), Jay McEveley and Luke Potter (both knee) are still out.
Watford will have captain John Eustace back.
Midfielder Eustace was forced to sit out of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Reading due to a one-match suspension for picking up five bookings.
On-loan Birmingham midfielder Jordon Mutch came in for Eustace and after impressing will be pushing for a start.
However, there will be no place in the squad for Shaleum Logan.
The 22-year-old Manchester City full-back was on trial at Vicarage Road and impressed in Tuesday's reserves victory over Luton but manager Malky Mackay has decided not sign him on loan and he has gone back to Eastlands.
The Hornets will be looking to get back to winning ways having not picked up a win in six Championship matches.
