Sedgwick: Celebrates his strike

The former Portsmouth and Leicester owner watched from the director's box as four goals in 23 first-half minutes sank the Pirates after they had taken a shock seventh minute lead when top scorer Will Hoskins headed in Wayne Brown's right-wing cross.

Moments after missing a sitter, Clinton Morrison brought a fine save from Mikkel Andersen but Chris Sedgwick headed in the rebound from six yards for a ninth-minute equaliser.

Midway through the first half, Tommy Miller lashed home a loose ball from 14 yards and three minutes later, Andersen could not hold Morrison's header and Gary Teale popped in the rebound from six yards.

Just past the half-hour mark Jermaine Johnson waltzed through the Rovers defence to fire home the fourth. Rovers improved after the break and Hoskins gave them hope of a point with a well taken 25-yard volley 25 minutes from time.

But Wednesday substitute James O'Connor slotted home the fifth seven minutes later and another fellow substitute Paul Heffernan rounded off the scoring nine minutes from time.
