Eustace: Will miss out against former club

Watford captain John Eustace remains sidelined as the Hornets prepare to host his former club Derby.

Eustace has been out since injuring his calf in the New Year's Day win over Portsmouth and is not yet fit enough to be considered.

Manager Malky Mackay could be boosted by the return of winger Don Cowie.

Cowie missed last weekend's FA Cup win over Hartlepool through illness but the Scot could be back after returning to light training.

Defender Lee Hodson is available after a chest infection of his own but is unlikely to feature as the Hornets look to keep pace with the leaders of the Championship.

Mackay made a host of changes for the cup clash but will revert to his first choice XI against the Rams. Piero Mingoia marked his debut with a goal and could be in the squad while fellow midfielder Michael Bryan is back after an ankle injury.

Derby manager Nigel Clough has no fresh injury concerns for the trip to Watford.

Clough is likely to make changes following his side's shock FA Cup defeat to Blue Square Bet Premier side Crawley on Monday.

Midfielder Miles Addison made his comeback from a serious foot injury by playing his first 90 minutes in a year at the Broadfield Stadium and will assessed before the game against the Hornets.

Alberto Bueno is likely to come back into the side to bolster the Rams attacking options alongside does Conor Doyle, who is back in the squad after returning from a training camp with the USA Under-20s.

Midfielder Stephen Pearson (knee) and striker Steven Davies (dead leg) may also be included if they shake off their respected injuries while attacker Kris Commons, who is mulling over a new contract with County, is likely to start.
