Ambrose: Could tackle Robins

Darren Ambrose and Alex Marrow could return for Palace's clash with the Robins.

Last year's top scorer Ambrose has been out of action with a hamstring injury since New Year's Day, while fellow midfielder Marrow has been struggling with an ankle knock since November.

New manager Dougie Freedman rates the pair at 50/50 to feature this weekend while Jermaine Easter is poised to start his first game for the Eagles.

The striker made his debut as a substitute during last week's 3-0 defeat at Swansea after joining from MK Dons.

Defender Lee Hills is still on the sidelines with a knee problem.

Bristol City boss Keith Millen will make changes for the trip to Palace.

Millen is concerned about his side's battling qualities after successive heavy home defeats to Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough.

Defenders Liam Fontaine and Louis Carey have now fully recovered from the injuries that sidelined them throughout December and are likely to feature at Selhurst Park.

Fontaine seems certain to replace Kalifa Cisse, who endured a nightmare performance at centre-back against Boro, scoring an own goal and making a series of unforced errors before being substituted.

Millen will also be tempted to reinstate the experienced Carey at right-back - a selection that will permit the combative Cole Skuse to return to his more familiar role in the centre of midfield.

"I have to look at the way we are playing and I have to look at the personnel. I don't have a massive squad available to me at the moment but I need to pick a team that will fight for everything at Crystal Palace," said Millen.
