Winger Mark Duffy should go straight into the Scunthorpe squad after joining the club from Morecambe this week.

The former Liverpool trainee, 25, has penned a two-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Iron boss Ian Baraclough has already signed centre-back Paul Reid from Colchester for a reported fee of £100,000, and he will make his home debut on Saturday.

However, midfielder Michael O'Connor remains sidelined with a knee injury and forward Garry Thompson will also miss out with a groin problem.

Skipper Cliff Byrne has missed the last two games with a back injury and will be missing and centre-back Rob Jones is still absent with a nerve-related injury.

Niall Canavan is also out with a knee problem but David Mirfin could be available after injury.

New Burnley boss Eddie Howe has a near full-strength squad available.

Northern Ireland striker Martin Paterson looks set to remain absent with a thigh problem and midfielder Chris McCann is still recovering from a long-term knee injury.

But Howe has no other major worries as the Clarets bid to kickstart his reign with a victory at Glanford Park.

Howe, 33, was unveiled as successor to Brian Laws on a three-and-a-half-year deal on Monday after a hugely successful spell at Bournemouth.

Howe led the Cherries from the depths of League Two to League One promotion contenders and chairman Barry Kilby hopes his youthful vibrancy will have a similar effect on Burnley.

"Obviously it's a brave new world and we have particularly gone for a new generation coming in and taking the reins," said Kilby.
