Benson: Completes suspension for Addicks

New Charlton manager Chris Powell will be without Paul Benson when he takes charge for the first time against Plymouth.

Striker Benson serves the final game of a three-match ban following his red card at Colchester on New Year's Day.

Lee Martin was this week recalled from his loan spell by Ipswich but Powell still has plenty of options in attack in Joe Anyinsah, Akpo Sodje, Pawel Abbott and Nathan Eccleston.

Liverpool loanee Eccleston came on as a substitute in the 2-2 draw at Sheffield Wednesday last week and could make his full debut at The Valley.

Chris Solly is back in training after a long-term ankle injury but fellow defender Kelly Youga is out for the season with a knee problem.

Plymouth boss Peter Reid will be without two key players for his side's trip to Charlton.

The Pilgrims' 3-1 victory at MK Dons was marred by injuries to defender Onismor Bhasera (knee) and forward Joe Mason (ankle).

Zimbabwean Bhasera had given Argyle the lead and put through his own net before being stretchered off at stadiummk, and he could be replaced by Jim Paterson.

Mason, who had been enjoying an impressive run of appearances, may not return to first-team action this month, which could give Rory Patterson an extended spell in the starting XI.

Enforced changes aside, Reid looks set to stick with the same players who secured Argyle's fourth away win of the campaign.

The Greens were denied all three points in the reverse fixture at Home Park by a 90th-minute Paul Benson equaliser.
