Martin Scott, Richie Towell and Matt Thornhill could all make their debuts for Hibernian.
Midfielder Scott, who signed from Ross County and full-back Towell, who is on loan from Celtic, may start, but former Nottingham Forest midfielder Matt Thornhill is recovering from an ankle injury and may not be risked.
Liam Miller is set to be restored following suspension, Lewis Stevenson could play despite a broken bone in his foot and Edwin de Graaf (groin) could also take part, with Kevin McCann, who has returned from a loan spell with Inverness with an injured knee, the only definite absentee.
Rangers manager Walter Smith has no fresh injury worries for the game.
Smith's side came through Saturday's defeat to Hearts unscathed, while Nikica Jelavic is nearing his first start after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Long-term casualty Kirk Broadfoot is still out of action with a foot problem.
