Odemwingie: Fit for Albion

City defender Micah Richards will be rested for the visit of the Baggies.

Richards was taken to hospital after banging his head in a sickening collision with Nigel de Jong in the midweek draw with Birmingham - De Jong will be given a fitness test before the game.

Yaya Toure returns after a throat infection, Mario Balotelli (knee) could return to training next week but Adam Johnson (ankle) is sidelined long term and manager Roberto Mancini has vowed to keep faith with goalkeeper Joe Hart despite recent criticism.

Albion have been boosted by the availability of top scorer Peter Odemwingie.

The Nigeria international striker has recovered from an ankle injury, picked up in his team's 2-2 draw against Wigan, also in the Premier League.

The Baggies may also welcome back Graham Dorrans, with a decision to be made on his ankle knock closer to kick-off. However, Gonzalo Jara (hamstring) and Mark Cech (groin) are both rated as 50/50 by manager Roberto Di Matteo.
