Carsley: Will be assessed

Coventry will assess Lee Carsley, Sammy Clingan and Ben Turner.

Skipper Carsley (Achilles and hernia surgery), fellow midfielder Clingan and centre-back Ben Turner (both knee) are each on the verge of making their long-awaited returns, with Turner the longest absentee having not played since early November.

Speaking ahead of Tuesday's encounter against the Swans, Sky Blues manager Aidy Boothroyd said: "I'm hopeful of having three back for the game, I'll be very, very disappointed if we don't have one back."

That one is likely to be Clingan who is the most advanced in his recovery having got through 30 minutes of a practice match unscathed on Thursday.

However, central defender James McPake (lower back complaint) remains in the treatment room.

With Coventry not playing over the weekend, Boothroyd completed a scouting mission on Swansea as they comfortably brushed aside an injury-ravaged Doncaster 3-0 at the Liberty Stadium. And he knows his charges will have their work cut out against a side only narrowly out of the top two on goal difference.

Mark Gower is expected to make a full recovery in time for Swansea's trip to Coventry.

The midfielder was forced off with a dead leg just before half-time in Saturday's convincing win over Doncaster but should be fine as the Swans look to continue their promotion march at the Ricoh Arena.

Manager Brendan Rodgers heads into the encounter with no other new injury or suspension concerns from the weekend, although defender Garry Monk (knee) and midfielder Andrea Orlandi (thigh) continue to miss out.

Rodgers may opt to shuffle his ranks slightly against the Sky Blues, with one eye also on Saturday's huge clash with fellow promotion contenders Leeds.

Midfielders Darren Pratley and Leon Britton both found themselves on the bench against Doncaster but may return to the starting XI against Aidy Boothroyd's side.

Rodgers said: "We played exceptionally well at home when we played against them (Coventry) and got the win (2-1 in September). We know it's going to be a tough game over there, two contrasting styles, but Aidy's obviously a very good young manager and will have his team well organised and set up."
