Borrowdale: Back again for Cumbrians

Carlisle defender Gary Borrowdale will return to the squad for the home clash with Sheffield Wednesday following illness.

Borrowdale, on loan from QPR, was sent off in his first full game for the Cumbrians and missed out through suspension before a virus laid him low ahead of the home midweek draw with Exeter.

Central defender Lubo Michalik remains sidelined due to a hamstring injury, but could return to full training next week ahead of schedule. Danny Livesey will continue alongside Peter Murphy at the heart of defence.

Another centre-half, Hull's Liam Cooper, is still out with a broken bone in his hand, but is expected to be available next weekend, while skipper Paul Thirlwell is also close to a return to action following a calf injury.

Former Carlisle striker Gary Madine, who will return to Brunton Park for the first time since joining Wednesday, has promised not to celebrate if he scores against his former club.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Gary Megson is expected to name an unchanged starting line-up for his side's clash at Carlisle.

The Owls turned in their best display under Megson in the midweek draw at Bournemouth and with no new injury or suspension problems, the former Bolton boss is unlikely to make changes.

Richard Hinds is expected to retain his place after returning to the back four on Tuesday in the continued absence of fellow defender Lewis Buxton (hamstring) and Jon Otsemobor (calf), who both remain sidelined.

Giles Coke sits out the final game of a three-match ban, so Chris Sedgwick is likely to partner Tommy Miller in central midfield, while striker Gary Madine will be asked to continue as the lone front man against his former club.

Wednesday, six points above the relegation zone in 16th place, are chasing their first league win in 11 matches.
