Jason Brown is in line to make his Cardiff debut in the home clash with Ipswich having arrived on loan to help ease the club's goalkeeper crisis.

The Blackburn shot-stopper has signed a one-month deal with the Bluebirds who have first-choice Tom Heaton (groin) struggling, back-up David Marshall (elbow) ruled out for the remainder of the season and youngster Jordan Santiago (finger) also ruled out.

Midfielder Aaron Ramsey has returned to Arsenal after Cardiff's hopes of bringing him back to the club were dashed.

Jones had claimed Ramsey's return to fitness would be aided more by playing 90 minutes for the Bluebirds, but the highly-rated Wales international is in line to feature for Arsenal against Sunderland this weekend.

Seyi Olofinjana is also missing with a knee injury, while Jones will assess a number of other players nursing minor niggles.

Tamas Priskin is in line for a starting role when Ipswich travel to south Wales.

Paul Jewell saw his side boss the opening hour of last weekend's defeat to Portsmouth but a catalogue of wasted chances proved costly.

Teenager Connor Wickham and strike partner Jason Scotland were guilty of missing a host of opportunities, so Jewell could recall Priskin.

Midfielder Colin Healy has been ruled out with the stomach injury he sustained at QPR last month but captain David Norris made a surprise return last week and will start.

Norris was not expected back for another week or so from injuries to his ankle and knee but came through 73 minutes last weekend.

Goalkeeper Brian Murphy has stepped up his comeback from a broken ankle after coming out of plaster but Marton Fulop will continue.
