Scunthorpe boss Ian Baraclough will again be without defender Paul Reid for the home clash with Swansea.

The centre-back was forced off midway through the first half of last weekend's defeat at Bristol City with a rib injury and missed the reverse at Portsmouth in midweek.

Reid is set for another week on the sidelines and striker Chris Dagnall is still absent with a knee injury.

Goalkeeper Joe Murphy and right-back Cliff Byrne remain out with ankle and back injuries respectively.

Midfielders Michael O'Connor and Garry Thompson are recovering well from knee and groin injuries but this weekend will come too soon for them.

The Iron are four points adrift of safety with a game in hand on fourth-bottom Crystal Palace.

Swansea are not expected to have any new injury problems as they look to continue their promotion charge in north Lincolnshire.

The biggest selection poser facing manager Brendan Rodgers is whether or not to rotate his ranks once again after last weekend's emphatic 3-0 victory over fellow high-fliers Leeds.

Stephen Dobbie, Luke Moore and Joe Allen were all rested to the bench for the victory at Coventry as Leon Britton, Darren Pratley and Craig Beattie came in.

But Rodgers restored the former trio to his starting line-up against Leeds and, having not had a midweek fixture this time around, is presented with a wealth of options at Glanford Park.

Elsewhere, midfielder Andrea Orlandi (thigh) is poised to return to full training while skipper Garry Monk (knee) is around 10 days away, although this weekend's clash comes too soon for both.

Winger Tommy Butler has finally rejoined training after 10 months out with a troublesome thigh injury but is also not yet ready to be considered for first-team action.
