Former Rangers full-back Maurice Ross could feature in Motherwell's squad after signing a short-term deal.

Francis Jeffers hopes to overcome the tight hamstring that forced him off against Dundee United in midweek while Steven Saunders has returned to training following an ankle injury but may not be fit enough to play.

Midfielder Steve Jennings begins a three-match suspension.

Aberdeen full-back David McNamee (hamstring) is a major doubt.

Midfielders Ryan Jack (tonsilitis) and Paul Hartley (knee) are out and defender Zander Diamond is suspended.

Long-term injury victims Yoann Folly, Darren Mackie and Fraser Fyvie remain on the sidelines.
