Mariappa: Back from ban for Hornets

Watford defender Adrian Mariappa is set to return for the Hornets.

Mariappa was sent off in the closing stages of the 2-1 defeat at Middlesbrough before the international break but has now completed his one-game ban.

Right-back Lloyd Doyley has recovered from a knee injury and fellow full-back Lee Hodson is fully fit after an ankle injury.

On-loan midfielder Danny Drinkwater was back on the bench at Coventry last weekend after receiving treatment for his thigh injury at parent club Manchester United.

Midfielder Stephen McGinn is a long-term absentee with a serious knee injury and striker Troy Deeney and winger Michael Bryan are both doubtful due to illness.

Hull boss Nigel Pearson expects to welcome Liam Rosenior back to his squad.

The defender sustained a shoulder injury in the 1-1 draw against Norwich and missed the 1-0 home defeat to Millwall.

But he has returned to training and should be fit to face the Hornets at Vicarage Road.

Brad Guzan will play the final match of his loan spell before returning to Aston Villa despite picking up a knock against the Lions.

Tom Cairney's return from illness will give Pearson further options in midfield as he seeks to put the Tigers' play-off bid back on track.

The two sides shared a goalless draw when they met at the KC Stadium earlier in the season.
