Cardiff boss Dave Jones could be without Stephen McPhail and Lee Naylor.

Midfielder McPhail and left-back Naylor were forced out of the 2-0 win at Sheffield Utd on Tuesday night with as yet unspecified injuries and are doubtful.

Darcy Blake and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas replaced the duo at Bramall Lane but Jason Koumas, Gavin Rae, Gabor Gypes and Jlloyd Samuel are also options available to Jones.

Jay Bothroyd and strike partner Craig Bellamy have been suffering from groin and hamstring strains respectively but are expected to be included while defender Kevin McNaughton is set to recover from a gluteal injury in time to retain his place.

Jon Parkin could return to the squad after missing the last two games with a muscle strain but Michael Chopra is not expected to be risked despite returning to training following a hamstring problem.

Centre-back Mark Hudson (knee) and goalkeeper David Marshall (elbow) remain long-term absentees.

Hayden Mullins will miss his first game of the season for Pompey.

The midfielder, an ever-present in all competitions this term, was sent off for deliberate handball during Tuesday night's 3-0 defeat by Coventry.

The club appealed against the red card but the decision was upheld and Mullins serves a one-match ban.

Skipper Liam Lawrence has made a timely recovery from a hamstring injury and is likely to step into Mullins' midfield spot.

Lawrence proved his fitness with a run-out as a substitute against the Sky Blues and should start.

Danny Webber came through 75 minutes unscathed after starting his first match in a year following a cruciate injury but fellow striker Kanu may get the nod to face the side he scored the winner against in the 2008 FA Cup final.
