Reid: Suspension blow for Addicks

Reid: Suspension blow for Addicks

Charlton will be without suspended duo Kyel Reid and Jose Semedo.

Both players were sent off for two bookable offences during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Bristol Rovers.

Manager Chris Powell had no complaints about the dismissal of Reid, who left Pirates defender James Tunnicliffe needing scans on an ankle injury.

But he was not happy about the second yellow card shown to Semedo for an alleged elbow on Rovers' player-manager Stuart Campbell.

Powell's frustration saw him sent to the stands as the home side hit back from two goals down to snatch a point.

Scott Wagstaff is unlikely to recover from a hamstring niggle in time to face Dale.

The Addicks made four changes for Saturday's game, with Bradley Wright-Phillips and Chris Solly rested, and they could come back in.

Rochdale travel to Charlton without any injury or suspension problems.

Boss Keith Hill believes Dale will fail to reach the play-offs after losing at home to Carlisle, despite being just three points behind sixth-placed Bournemouth and with a final-day trip to Dean Court still to come.

Hill made two changes on Saturday, with Joe Widdowson and Joe Thompson replacing Robbie Williams and Will Artkinson.

He could make changes for a second game in three days. Williams and Atkinson will hope for recalls along with Josh Thompson, Brian Barry-Murphy and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro.

Defeat in London, combined with a home win for Bournemouth against relegation-threatened Bristol Rovers, would virtually end Rochdale's play-off hopes.

Hill's side would be six points behind the Cherries, who have a superior goal difference, with two matches remaining.
