Rigg: Misses out for Valiants

Port Vale will check on goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson but Sean Rigg is set to miss out.

Goalkeeper Tomlinson was due to start Monday's 1-0 defeat at Stevenage - a loss which all but ended Vale's hopes of a play-off place - until he was withdrawn from the starting XI before kick-off due to illness.

Chris Martin stepped in between the sticks and will do so again should Tomlinson, who instead dropped to the bench, fails to recover in time.

Forward Rigg, who came into the side at Broadhall Way in place of Louis Dodds, was forced off after just 13 minutes having suffered knee ligament damage.

Dodds is now likely to regain his starting spot against the Shrimps, while midfielder Sam Morsy is also pushing for a recall.

Doug Loft continues to miss the closing stages of the season with his ruptured hamstring.

Sammy McIlroy will be without a quartet of players.

Andy Parrish and Andy Fleming are set to miss out again through injury and Paul Scott (knee) and Kieran Charnock (Achilles) remain long-term absentees.

The 1-1 draw at home to Hereford on Easter Monday left the Shrimps six points ahead of second-bottom Barnet with two games remaining and all-but safe from relegation.

Meanwhile, Morecambe midfielder Craig Stanley has publicly stated his desire to leave the Globe Arena at the end of the season.

Stanley, who is out of contract at the end of the current campaign, has enjoyed a successful loan spell with Paul Buckle's side and has said he wishes to stay at Plainmoor next season.
