Six summer recruits are all battling to make their way into Danny Wilson's starting XI as the club look to go one better than their promotion heartbreak last term.

The most intriguing battle comes in attack where new signing Thomas Dossevi is battling Vincent Pericard to start alongside Charlie Austin following Billy Paynter's departure for Leeds.

Elsewhere, Simon Ferry, Paul Caddis, Michael Rose, David Prutton and David Ball will also be competing to line up against the Seagulls.

Jonathan Douglas will wear the captain's armband in the absence of central defender Gordon Greer, who ironically completed a summer switch to Brighton.

But he will not be available to play at the County Ground due to suspension having been sent off in Town's play-off semi-final second leg triumph over Charlton back in May.
