The defender suffered a knee injury in pre-season but has recovered quicker than expected and proved his fitness in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Reading this week.

Sunderland youngster Michael Liddle was drafted in for a month as cover for Daniels but he has missed the last two matches with a groin injury so Daniels should start

Midfielders Matthew Spring and Stephen Dawson and striker Alex Revell missed training earlier in the week with knocks and will be checked over.
