The midfielder, who hit 20 goals to help Palace beat the drop last season, struck twice in the second half to sink the Grecians.

Ambrose hit his first from the penalty spot after Sean Scannell's mazy run was ended by a foul from Rob Edwards, and completed a second brace in two friendlies moments later with a neat run and shot from 15 yards.
