Beattie: Returns from hip injury

Aberdeen will be without skipper Paul Hartley for the game after he suffered a hamstring injury in the Co-operative Insurance Cup win over Raith that will keep him out for three weeks.

Sone Aluko (Achilles), Fraser Fyvie (knee) and Peter Pawlett (toe) remain on the sidelines and Andrius Velicka is ineligible, but Michael Paton has recovered from illness and Andrew Considine is hoping to prove his fitness after a hip knock.

For Rangers, James Beattie returns from injury after recovering from a hip problem but Maurice Edu is a doubt with a knee knock.

A groin problem kept Nikica Jelavic out of training on Friday but the striker is expected to be fit for the clash with the Dons.
