The ex-Morecambe man is nursing a groin injury which forced him to miss Saturday's 2-0 defeat at QPR.

Boss Nigel Adkins said: "It looks like he's going to be out for minimum of six to eight weeks. That is a massive hammer blow for us."

In another setback, defender Jim McNulty faces three weeks on the sidelines after he hobbled off with an ankle injury in Saturday's reverse at Loftus Road.

Eddie Nolan will switch from right-back to left-back, with Cliff Byrne returning on the right-hand side of the defence.

David Mirfin (lower leg) and Rob Jones (sickness) missed the trip to QPR and are doubtful.
