Spurs could face FC Twente with Sebastien Bassong as their only recognised centre-half.

Captain Ledley King (knee and groin) remains doubtful for Spurs' second Group A clash despite training this morning, while Younes Kaboul suffered a recurrence of his hamstring problem and looks set to miss out.

Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes could make his comeback after more than a month out with a groin injury, Benoit Assou-Ekotto has shaken off a knee problem, but William Gallas (groin) is still out, and Jermain Defoe, Michael Dawson (both ligament damage), Jamie O'Hara (back) and Jonathan Woodgate (groin) are long-term absentees.
