Van der Vaart serves a one-match ban following his sending-off in Spurs' last Group A outing against FC Twente, while King is out with a groin injury - though he would have been rested anyway.

Harry Redknapp therefore hopes William Gallas feels no ill effects from his first game for a month on Saturday.

Younes Kaboul (hamstring) is still a doubt and Sandro is ineligible, joining long-term absentees Jermain Defoe, Michael Dawson (both ligament damage), Jamie O'Hara (back) and Jonathan Woodgate (groin) on the sidelines.

Tottenham: Gomes, Cudicini, Hutton, Bale, Gallas, Bassong, Kaboul, Corluka, Jenas, Assou-Ekotto, Huddlestone, Lennon, Palacios, Kranjcar, Bentley, Modric, Dos Santos, Crouch, Keane, Pavyluchenko, Pletikosa.
