Van der Vaart: Has failed to shake off a hamstring injury

Rafael van der Vaart will miss the game after failing shake off a hamstring injury.

Younes Kaboul was due to train on Friday following a hip problem and could be in the squad, while Luka Modric returns after missing Tuesday night's Champions League draw at FC Twente with flu.

Jermaine Jenas (calf) and Niko Kranjcar (hamstring) are both out after limping off in Enschede, while captain Ledley King (groin), Tom Huddlestone (ankle), Jamie O'Hara (back) and Jonathan Woodgate (groin) are longer-term absentees.

Chelsea will not risk England midfielder Frank Lampard because he is not match fit.

The England international midfielder is back in training after groin and tendon injuries but requires match practice.

Right-back Jose Bosingwa is out with a torn hamstring but left-back Ashley Cole is fit after recovering from a slight ankle knock.
