Stockport have signed Southampton defender Jack Saville on loan ahead of the FA Cup first-round home clash with Peterborough.
The rookie centre-back, who joined Saints from Chelsea's youth system in March 2009, has linked up with Paul Simpson's struggling side until December 4.
In a further boost, midfielder Anthony Pulis has extended his loan spell at Edgeley Park for a further month and both players are available to face Posh.
However, midfielder Jake Simpson is suspended after he was sent off in County's 5-0 reverse at Morecambe in midweek.
It was the second successive match that Stockport have lost by that scoreline and could prompt the manager to make changes.
Midfielder Matty Mainwaring remains sidelined as he bids to recover from injury.
Lewin Nyatanga will miss out for Peterborough as their FA Cup campaign begins with a trip to face the Hatters.
Nyatanga made his debut in the 3-1 win at Walsall in midweek after signing on loan from Bristol City but is not allowed to play in the cup as part of his temporary stay at London Road.
The Wales international played alongside Ryan Bennett and Kelvin Langmead as manager Gary Johnson switched to a five-man defence at the Bescot but he may revert to 4-4-2 against the Hatters - who have lost their last two games 5-0.
Playmaker George Boyd will serve the second of his three-match suspension but captain Grant McCann is back after a ban of his own.
Wide man Tommy Rowe picked up a groin injury at Brentford two weeks ago and is ruled out of a return to his former club.
