Bury boss Alan Knill could hand a debut to Everton midfielder James Wallace in the home clash with Peterborough.
The 18-year-old has joined the Shakers on a month's loan and goes straight into the squad.
Midfielder Damien Mozika is banned after he was booked for the fifth time this season in Tuesday's 5-0 victory at Lincoln and serves a one-match ban.
Goalkeeper Cameron Belford (broken cheekbone) and striker Andy Bishop (tendonitis) remain sidelined while midfielder Steven Schumacher faces a late fitness test after sustaining a knock at Lincoln.
Knill accepts Posh, who were in the Championship last season, will provide a stern test for his men but is confident they can rise to the challenge.
He said: "It's another chance for my players to test themselves against higher opposition."
Peterborough will have Craig Mackail-Smith back for the trip to Bury.
The free-scoring striker makes his return from suspension which kept him out of the 2-2 draw with Leyton Orient on Tuesday but he might have to settle for a place on the bench as manager Gary Johnson was impressed by deputy Lee Tomlin.
Posh will be without on-loan trio Lewin Nyatanga, Marcus Williams and Adam Clayton as all three have been refused permission to play by their parent clubs.
However Posh should be able to call on captain Grant McCann after a calf strain and winger Tommy Rowe, who has not played for seven matches because of a groin problem.
Forward Dave Hibbert remains a long-term absentee after he dislocated his knee after coming off the bench during the 4-1 FA Cup First Round replay win over Stockport while midfielder Lee Frecklington who is still sidelined with ankle ligament damage.
