Manchester United pair Nani and Michael Carrick will both return to the squad for the Champions League match against Marseille.

Nani was expected to be out until after the international break with a gashed leg but trained on Monday morning as did Carrick, who has been troubled with calf and groin injuries.

Central defender Nemanja Vidic missed the session as he needed treatment for a knock but is expected to play as United aim to build on a 0-0 draw in the first leg.

Rio Ferdinand and Darren Fletcher are among a number of players who will be absent from the match.

Manchester United (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, O'Shea, Rafael, Smalling, Brown, Vidic, Evra, Fabio, Gibson, Nani, Scholes, Carrick, Obertan, Bebe, Giggs, Rooney, Berbatov, Hernandez, Valencia.
