Earnshaw: Hoping to start for Forest

East Midlands derby matchwinner Robert Earnshaw is pushing for a recall to the Forest starting line-up.

The Wales international came off the bench to score the only goal of the game against his former club Derby on Saturday to give Forest a first-ever victory at Pride Park and lift Billy Davies' side into the Championship play-off places.

Fellow forwards Dele Adebola and David McGoldrick and midfielders Radoslaw Majewski and Paul McKenna will also be hoping for recalls.

The game was originally scheduled for the start of December but was postponed due to the snow and freezing conditions.

Victory for Forest would see them climb a place to fifth and to within one point of second-placed Cardiff, with a game in hand.

Bristol City could have Christian Ribeiro and Jon Stead available.

Defender Ribeiro has been nursing a knee injury while striker Stead has seen his ankle problem settle down after an injection.

Boss Keith Millen has further injury problems at the back with Louis Carey (calf), Lewin Nyatanga (Achilles), Jamie McAllister (calf), Nicky Hunt (hamstring) and James Wilson (knee) all receiving treatment.

Midfielders Danny Rose (back and hamstring), Cole Skuse and Gavin Williams (foot) are also carrying knocks.

Last season's top scorer Nicky Maynard, who has missed the entire campaign following knee surgery in the summer, is closing in on a return and could be involved against Swansea or Preston next week.
