McDonald has been rated as 50-50 with a neck injury ahead of the visit of the Edinburgh club.

Martin Canning is still out with a knock and Marco Paixao (knee), Alex Neil (hip) and James Gibson (knee) also remain on the sidelines.

Simon Mensing remains in contention after it emerged today he had served a four-week suspension for failing a drug test before his return at the weekend.

Ian Murray returns from suspension for Hibs.

Murray served a two-match ban as Hibs extended their run to four successive wins but the captain could make an immediate return in midfield.

Danny Galbraith (ankle) remains a major doubt, while Steven Thicot (hip/thigh) and Michael Hart (knee) are out, along with long-term absentee Kevin McCann (knee).
