Motherwell manager Stuart McCall has selection problems ahead of the game, with Francis Jeffers unlikely to recover from a hamstring injury, Gavin Gunning out with a shoulder problem and one or two others facing fitness tests.

Keith Lasley is a slight doubt after taking a knock to his ribs but Steve Jennings is suspended.

Dundee United defender Garry Kenneth returns to the visitors' squad having returned to training following a knee injury.

Peter Houston could also turn to defender Scott Severin, who made his comeback from the bench against Rangers last weekend. Long-term absentee Darren Dods (knee) is still out.
