Rochdale boss Keith Hill must decide whether to shuffle his pack as his side seek to get their promotion bid back on track.
Dale's six-match unbeaten run was ended by a 1-0 defeat at Colchester on Saturday and Hill named the same side for the fifth match running.
Hill has no injury or suspension concerns but may look to use his full squad as the Spotland outfit seek to maintain their play-off challenge amid a hectic run of fixtures.
Rochdale lie two points below sixth-placed Bournemouth but have a game in hand on the Cherries and Hill has urged his men to bounce back from their setback at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
He said: "It hurt but we have to move on."
Southampton manager Nigel Adkins has a host of injury worries.
Adam Lallana is struggling with an ongoing groin problem and was only among the substitutes at Leyton Orient on Saturday while fellow midfielder Dale Stephens missed out with an Achilles injury.
They will be handed late fitness tests along with Frazer Richardson, who was sidelined with a calf strain, and fellow defenders Danny Butterfield and Dan Harding, who are carrying minor knocks.
With Alex Chamberlain (ankle) and Morgan Schneiderlin (knee) still on the sidelines, left-back Ryan Dickson may be asked to deputise in midfield again as he did at Brisbane Road.
Winger Lee Holmes remains a long-term absentee after ankle surgery.
