St Ledger: Will miss the final game v Watford

Preston boss Phil Brown is again missing a number of players as his relegated side end their campaign at home to Watford.

Midfielder Paul Coutts will play no part after he underwent surgery this week to rectify groin problems which have hampered him for much of the season.

Centre-back Leon Cort is sidelined with a hamstring injury while fellow defenders Sean St Ledger, Conor McLaughlin and David Gray are already on the injured list.

Striker Chris Brown is rated as doubtful with a back problem but midfielder Ian Ashbee has trained this week despite a shoulder injury.

Forward Iain Hume has been passed fit while a number of youngsters who featured in last weekend's defeat at Ipswich could be handed another opportunity to shine.

Watford defender Martin Taylor is hoping to be fit as their season comes to an end at relegated Preston.

The former Birmingham centre-half has started all 45 league games so far this season but had to come off with a foot injury last weekend as QPR sealed their promotion at Vicarage Road.

Taylor is desperate to complete the full set of games and has travelled so will be given a late fitness test. Dale Bennett replaced him last weekend but is out with an ankle injury of his own.

On-loan Aston Villa striker Andreas Weimann is back from a foot injury but fellow forward Marvin Sordell is a doubt after picking up an ankle knock in the 2-0 defeat to QPR.

Midfielder Ross Jenkins will miss out with an ankle injury but young winger Matt Whichelow returned from his ankle injury as a substitute last weekend.

Midfielder Stephen McGinn (knee) remains a long-term absentee.
