Martin Petrov opened the scoring for the Trotters from the penalty spot after Darren Pratley was fouled in the box by goalkeeper Mark Howard.

Former Swansea man Pratley then doubled Bolton's lead 20 minutes into the second half, latching on to a Robbie Blake cross.

Nialle Rodney reduced arrears on 71 minutes before substitute Kevin Davies made it 3-1 with Ivan Klasnic's stoppage time fourth giving Wanderers their third successive pre-season win.
