Ipswich boss Paul Jewell has an injury dilemma in defence ahead of Saturday's visit of Hull.

Centre-back Damien Delaney faces a race to be fit after suffering an ankle injury in the opening-day victory at Bristol City.

The injury forced Delaney out of the Republic of Ireland squad for Wednesday's friendly draw with Croatia but Jewell is hoping he will recover.

Summer signing Ivar Ingimarsson will definitely be on the sidelines after suffering a thigh injury in training on Monday.

Tommy Smith and Jack Ainsley formed an inexperienced partnership in central defence in Tuesday's Carling Cup defeat to Northampton and Jewell could bring a defender in before Saturday.

Forward Tamas Priskin and Josh Carson are available once again after missing the Northampton game as they were on international duty with Norway and Northern Ireland Under-21s respectively.

Jewell is hopeful of tying up a loan deal for Blackburn midfielder Keith Andrews before the clash with the Tigers.

Hull manager Nigel Pearson should be boosted by the return of all nine first-team players missing from the midweek Carling Cup defeat for the game at Ipswich.

Goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi, defenders Joe Dudgeon and Corry Evans and midfielders Tom Cairney, Robbie Brady and Robert Koren were absent for Tuesday night's shock defeat to Macclesfield due to international commitments but are expected to be available.

Striker Dele Adebola and defender Liam Rosenior, who also sat out the cup tie through injury, could also return.

Adebola sustained a back injury on his debut in last Friday's home defeat to Blackpool while Rosenior has been nursing a knee injury.

Aaron Mclean, yet to feature this season due to a calf problem, has returned to training but Pearson will not rush the forward back.
